I-295 SOUTHBOUND...
... NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC!

The southbound lanes of I-295 between Gardiner and Topsham were re-opened to traffic at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th. Re-opening of this section of I-295 marks completion of this major rehabilitation project three weeks ahead of the projected completion date of August 30th.

MaineDOT would like to thank all who were involved in or affected by the project—prime contractor Pike Industries and its subcontractors, emergency responders, law enforcement agencies, municipal officials, residents of the Route 201 detour, businesses in the affected communities, commuters, and through-travelers—for the patience and cooperation that helped make the project a success and early completion possible.
