Since 1999 we have been making custom tote bags out of recycled sails. Every bag we make has sailed around the world before it even leaves our shop, and we like that.
Each bag is designed and inspired from the sail itself and all vary in texture and fabric. All are durable, water resistant and washing-machine friendly.
Most of our bags (like most sails) are white or off white dacron with a colored design on them but we use all sails from canvas to Kevlar.
Each Sea Bag has rope handles that are hand-spliced in our shop in Portland, Maine - the splice is a nautical skill and what differentiates a Sea Bag. Sea Bags totes come in small, medium and large and a variety of designs and colors.
Cure Bags are Back!
We are proud to announce the Cure Bags are available again! This year, our donations are in memory of our colleague and Freeport Store Manager, Rhonda Hartley.
To date, we have raised over $55,000 for a CURE. We donate 50% of the sales of our Cure Bags (a.k.a. Pink Ribbon Bags) to the Maine Cancer Foundation. Cure Bags are a great way to show support to your sister, mother, grandmother, brother or friend who is fighting cancer.
Our Cure products are available in three sizes: Wristlet, Medium Tote & Large Tote. All are made from the same recycled sails Sea Bags are known for. And, new this year we have added a Cure Wristlet to our collection. The wristlet is perfect for money, driver's license, lip gloss and keys. Just slip it over your hand and keep it around your wrist for safe-keeping.
