Husbands who do not cook are rarely bored with John around! A locally well known watercolor artist, Heidi's original art graces the walls and is for sale as well.
Seasonal specialties. Heidi has long gathered natural bounty which grows in our area and beyond, with pickled vegetables, jellies, jams and fruit butters all on the seasonal learning schedules as well as more traditional dishes. Her German lineage comes through with acclaimed schnitzel dinners, creative meat and vegetable meals, unique salads, and bountiful seafood events. Periodically coupled with wine tastings by local vintners. Heidi can even accommodate gluten free guests.
More than just cooking. Heidi is an advanced naturalist, with great knowledge of local flora and fauna, including our own herb gardens. She has been known to walk into the woods with her mother and come back with the makings of a wonderful dinner! With our own trout stream and acres of woods, your stay can include many outdoor experiences, including the L.L.Bean paddling school, located only a 1/2 mile away. Rather stay in your own barn home? Come learn and relax! Heidi grew up in Freeport, An award winning baker and well known chef to companies as far as Florida, Heidi is a wonderful teacher and local guide. Her home and cooking school are nestled deep in the woods for a uniquely relaxing experience, yet only 3 miles from down town Freeport, 2 miles from Wolfe's Neck Sate Park, but a world away from ordinary!
