Auburn, Me. (September 2011) - True to Thos. Moser’s commitment in creating furniture built with purpose and designed with elegant simplicity, father and son Tom and David Moser have worked together to create Ellipse. This mid-century modern collection is functional, beautiful and will serve generations to come. The first Ellipse introduction is the Dining Collection, with five pieces including the Dining Chair, Rectangular Dining Table, Sideboard, Square Dining Table and Stool. The collection will be available at Thos. Moser’s showrooms nationwide as well online in early October 2011.
“We wanted to revisit Danish mid-century modern style and bring to bear our own intellectual interpretation on this school of design to make these pieces distinctly Moser,” says David Moser, product development manager at Thos. Moser. “Ellipse is a progression of our design impulses with simple, clean lines where the beauty of the pieces is paramount but does not sacrifice practicality. It was refreshing to collaborate with my father on this design. We hope our customers have as much pleasure using our pieces as we did creating them.”
The new Ellipse Collection is well-suited for compact, multi-purpose spaces, where each item of furniture should satisfy aesthetic sensibilities while playing a functional role in everyday life. Using distinctive design elements including traditional joinery, exposed end grains, gentle elliptical forms and space-efficient profiles, Ellipse is pure in its design intent.
